Cleopatra Beach in Alanya
Mediterranean coast is very famous thanks to its various beaches. The most popular among others is Cleopatra beach which is located in Alanya. The beach was called after the Egyptian empress Cleopatra. The legend says that Greece emperor Anthony gave that land as a present to Cleopatra. Every day Cleopatra went through the tunnel from the fortress to the beach and swam by the seaside. After swimming in the Mediterranean sea, she had a walk in Alanya.
Cleopatra beach meets all the criterias and is a holder of the Blue Flag. The coastline of approximately 2 km charms tourists with its fine sand and clear blue water. You can easily see exotic fish in the sea.
The beach is free of charge and open for tourists and local people. Beach umbrellas and deckchairs are free of charge for tourists who stay at a hotel only. Every 50 m there are beach cafes where you can have food, drinks and icecream. In addition, many tourists enjoy beach sports such as volleyball, paragliding, water-skiing, diving, etc.
