Why do Turks love tulips and celebrate the festival every year? The Turkish people fell in love with tulips from the 16th century, when  these beautiful gifts of flora were brought from Persia to the Ottoman Empire for sultans. Later, the pattern of the plant began to appear on dishes, on clothes, on mosques, on buildings, etc.

Travelers from all over the world come to Turkey, particularly in a fantastic city of Istanbul, to attend the Tulip Festival, held annually in  the spring. In this period of the year, the metropolis seems to bloom wherever you look, everywhere there are tulips: in alleys, in  squares, in yards, on the highway.

There is no specific date for this event, it can move and depend on the weather. Approximate month is April. 

The holiday lasts a whole month, because late varieties of flowers are also planted, which extends this extravaganza until June.

Carnival is usually held in the main squares and parks of Istanbul, where you can enjoy live music, buy gifts at the fair on this subject. 
Tourists and residents of the city rejoice in the beauty of sculptures, flower appliques, and the larges carpet on earth with stunning  patterns made of these flowers. Tens of millions of tulips are planted for this celebration.
